New tower simulators for ATCSim

Jointly with its US parent company UFA Inc., Kaufbeuren-based ATCSim develops tower and radar simulation software for air traffic control, research, education and for testing purposes. The software solutions are being utilised worldwide, together with dedicated communications and voice recognition software.
The company’s headquarters in Kaufbeuren are furthermore equipped with training rooms, where – for example – the tower personnel of the Munich airport is being trained. There, Viscon recently successfully installed two new tower simulators.

Projection tower simulator

• System: 1 x reflected rear projection
• 12 x Panasonic PT DZ570E   1,920 x 1,200 pixels (installed in portrait mode)
• 12 x mirrors
• 12 x 2,030 mm x 1,250 mm special acrylic panes (HxW)
• 14,400 horizontal pixels x 1,920 vertical pixels

• System:  LCD display (easy to service and space-saving)
• 7 x NEC MultiSync P552  1,920 x 1,080 pixels  (installed in portrait mode)
• 7 x 1,209mm x 680mm (HxW)
• 7,560 horizontal pixels x 1,920 vertical pixels
