Marin’s Seven Oceans Simulator Centre (SOSc) in the Netherlands is a huge flagship for a state-of-the-art maritime training and research centre, and VISCON played a major role in making this grandiose project a reality.
The project owes much of its success to Klaus Schmalenbach, VISCON`s Technical Director, who oversaw the nearly two-year conception and planning phase, followed by approximately one year of realization of the technically complex simulator units.
Klaus Schmalenbach’s extensive expertise and experience were instrumental throughout the whole project. His contributions were vital not only in the installation of the simulator units but also in the structure for the new building complex. The reason for this was the sheer size and technical sophistication of the simulators, which necessitated a harmonious integration between the building and the simulator constructions, ensuring seamless operation and functionality.
Supporting Klaus in this ambitious project was Luca der Graaf, our Technical Engineer and 3D Artist at VISCON.
A big thank you goes out to our partners VIOSO, TK-Metallbau, and Novacom for their outstanding work on this gigantic project – making this state-of-the-art maritime training and research center a reality.
Together, we have achieved something truly remarkable. Thank you a lot for that!
